Description

Orthosis with a dorsal or circular dynamic shell made of plastic to lift the frontal part of the foot.
Exists also as:
* shell with outside ankle joints in order to control medial/lateral motion in the ankle joint
* metal spring at the dorsal side of the leg, connected to the shoe and with a strap around the lower limb
* other elastic materials making part of the shell, absorbing and delivering energy during walking.
Located inside the shoe.
Often combined with shoe sole modifications.

Severe spasm.

Intended Use Text

Supposed to compensate for weak muscles at the anterior part of the lower leg providing dorsal lift during walking to avoid drop-foot and controlling the plantar motion during the last part of the gait stand phase, enabling standing and walking in order to participate in society.
To be applied in case the ready made version does not fit due to impairments of body functions and/or structures.
