TLSO, scoliosis correction orthosis, night-time-brace, custom made

Description

Orthosis be composed of two lateral plastic sheets, which are dorsally strongly fixed together and ventrally connected with Velcro, functioning as ventral locking. Integrated in the scoliosis basket are foam supports. The orthosis is asymmetric with a higher edge at one side and has no windows.
The orthosis immobilises the patient in an extremely overcorrected posture. The patient has to carry it for more than 8 hours per night. During that time the primary curve of the scoliosis is overcorrected.
The three point support principle works only in the frontal plane and does not contribute to rotation. Therefore should the secondary curve (rotation) be checked continuously.
Custom made over a model of the patient, includes casting and cast preparation.
